How to Measure your Feet for Xero Shoes DIY kits

Here’s a quick video showing you how to measure your feet and get the correct size for your Xero Shoes DIY sandal kits.

In short, here’s what you do:

  1. Place a piece of paper against a wall (if you have VERY large feet, use a piece of newspaper)
  2. Place your foot on the paper, with your heel against the wall
  3. Make a mark on the paper at the furthest point away from the wall… this will either be just in front of your big toe or second toe
  4. Take a ruler and measure from the edge of the paper to the mark you made.
  5. You’ll use this measurement to select the right size of our DIY kits.

(For our ready-to-wear sandals, you can find the best size with the templates at Fit Info for Xero Shoes)

  1. I love how I can see your tan line from the shoes! Haha! You’re definitely a supporter of your own product.

    1. With VERY few exceptions, I’ve been in Xeros non-stop since August 2009 🙂

      1. I unfortunately did not use this method to measure my feet (my own fault) and ended up ordering too small….my heels hang over 🙁

  2. You obviously have not noticed the Amuri line. However, I like most people prefer the ‘do it yourself’ kit. Maybe it is the [Ikea effect](http://beyondphilosophy.com/ever-heard-of-the-ikea-effect-increasing-perceived-value-while-reducing-costs/)? If it is, I certainly hope Steven is able to build an empire just as Ikea has – because I intend to purchase and Xero Shoes for the rest of my life.

    1. I agree. Steven contacted me shortly after my post and provided excellent customer service. I have been a dedicated consumer and strong supporter of Xero Shoes ever since. I even recommended them in a subsequent edition of my book.
